Project insights: Creating online resources to support teachers through school closures

We worked with Hodder Education Group to create online resources, helping teachers to provide dynamic lessons while teaching remotely.

As learning pivoted online at the start of the pandemic, we worked with Hodder Education Group to produce a wide-ranging set of online resources for schools.

Project Background: Producing online resources following a thematic curriculum

Hodder Education Group, Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust and GLUU have partnered to deliver world-class and fully mapped curriculum resources for key stages 1–4. eduu.school resources are integrated with mental health and wellbeing support and provide learners with access to engaging, innovative and quality lessons however and wherever schools are teaching.

A quick turnaround was vital to ensure schools could access the online resources as soon as possible.

Oriel Square joined the project to carry out all editorial stages. A quick turnaround was vital to ensure schools could access the online resources as soon as possible to help navigate through difficult circumstances and adapt to remote digital learning.

Our approach

Our Editorial team took on the digital resources, which covered a wide range of school subject areas, at the copy-edit stage, working with a team of experienced editors to prepare them for publication online. We worked strategically to make sure that teachers had an ongoing supply of new materials to suit their teaching schedules, meaning some resources were prioritised and published within a very short timeframe.

We recognised the importance of effective communication to allow all stakeholders to work efficiently.

Collaborating with teams at both Hodder Education Group and Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust, we recognised the importance of effective communication to allow all stakeholders to work efficiently.

What we delivered

The result was a sequenced series of fun and visually appealing front-of-class digital presentations.
