Project Insights: Developing course materials for an international market

Case study: Producing international kindergarten materials on a recent project for Collins.

Project Background: Creating international kindergarten materials for Collins

Oriel Square was involved with the project from the market research phase, which then led to the development of the course and the production of course content and teaching materials.

Collins wanted to create a new kindergarten course for the international market, covering the core subjects for Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2. Oriel Square was involved with the project from the market research phase, which then led to the development of the course and the production of course content and teaching materials.

Our approach

Illustrators for the project were sourced from the course’s target market countries, ensuring that course materials were relatable and engaging.

As a major part of our market research, we talked to international schools in several countries to gain understanding of how the course could be effective in the classroom, and what would be most useful for teachers and learners.

With this insight, we worked with specialist authors to develop the course content and assembled a team – including an experienced publisher in the UK and international early-years markets –  to work on the project. Using both in-house and out-of-house expertise, we took the course materials through all editorial stages. We also commissioned songs and developed digital tools to be used alongside the print components. Illustrators for the project were sourced from the course’s target market countries, ensuring that course materials were relatable and engaging.

What we delivered

Oriel Square developed and published English, Maths and Science courses for both year groups.

Oriel Square developed and published English, Maths and Science courses for both year groups. Each stage and subject included an Anthology, Activity Books and a Teacher’s Guide, as well as accompanying digital and audio tools.
